MONTREAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TAKE PART IN THE FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION
Their objective: Build a robot
FIRST is a competition designed to offer young people an exciting and hands-on experience in science and technology. The objective is precise: the students have six weeks to build a highly functional robot, capable of playing soccer, and worth $25,000. During this period, the students work with university experts and engineers, enabling them to expand their scientific knowledge.
Their mission
The FIRST teams must solve a common problem in a period of six weeks, using a standard "kit" and a strict set of rules.
During the competition, the students are judged on their design, teamwork, professionalism, maturity and ability to overcome obstacles. Marking the most goals is ultimately a secondary objective.
