PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY AND JAMES LYNG HIGH SCHOOL
A Concordia MBA student started a Young Entrepreneurs Club to help students develop sustainable business plans, and implement a micro-business at James Lyng high school.
12 students participated in our entrepreneurial activities, and implemented a micro-business called The Pit Stop at James Lyng.
Our project coordinator offered workshops to the students and helped them discover the different steps of opening a micro-business:
1. Do a market study
2. Conduct surveys
3. Write a business plan
4. Give Power Point presentations in front of the school’s principal and administration
5. Choose and buy the products
6. Conduct marketing campaigns
The members of the Young Entrepreneurs Club organized the grand opening of their micro-business in May 2009, thus further developing their talents as young entrepreneurs.
