750 high school students at ETS

MONTREAL, Jan. 7, 2012 – Youth Fusion and FIRST Robotics Quebec organize the official launch of the 2012 FIRST International Robotics Competition at École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS). The competition will see over two thousand high school teams compete in regional events across the United States and Canada.

The following people will speak:

Yves Beauchamp, Director General – ÉTS
Maud Cohen, President – Quebec Order of Engineers
Richard Deschamps, Vice-President – Executive Committee of the City of Montreal
François Michaud, Director 3IT, Sherbrooke University

They will address an audience of over 750 high school students and 150 mentors, who eagerly await the announcement of the rules for this year’s challenge, webcast simultaneously worldwide on that day. The teenagers, all from 32 Quebec high schools, will receive the kit of parts that they will use to build a highly functional robot over the following six weeks to compete at the first Robotics Festival in Quebec, which will take place on March 15-17, 2012 at the Uniprix Stadium in Montreal.
